Pengfa Chemical – Precautions when using phosphoric acid

      Phosphoric acid is a common inorganic acid with the chemical formula H3PO4. Not easy to volatilize, not easy to decompose, easy to deliquescence in the air. Phosphoric acid is a medium-strong acid with a crystallization point of 21°C. When the temperature is lower than this temperature, hemihydrate crystals will be precipitated. Heating will lose water to obtain pyrophosphoric acid, and then further lose water to obtain metaphosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid has the property of acid, its acidity is weaker than hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, but stronger than acetic acid, boric acid, etc.

use:

Medicine: Phosphoric acid can be used to prepare phosphorus-containing drugs, such as sodium glycerophosphate. Agriculture: Phosphoric acid is an important raw material for the production of phosphate fertilizers (superphosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, etc.), as well as for the production of feed nutrients (calcium dihydrogen phosphate);

Food: Phosphoric acid is one of the food additives. It is used as a sour agent and yeast nutrition in food. Coca-Cola contains phosphoric acid. Phosphate is also an important food additive and can be used as a nutritional enhancer;

Industry: Phosphoric acid is an important chemical raw material, and its main functions are as follows;

1. Treat the metal surface to form an insoluble phosphate film on the metal surface to protect the metal from corrosion;

2. Mixed with nitric acid as a chemical polishing agent to improve the smoothness of the metal surface;

3. Phosphate esters, raw materials for the production of detergents and pesticides;

4. Raw materials for the production of phosphorus-containing flame retardants;

Precautions when using phosphoric acid:

To protect the skin from phosphoric acid, we recommend wearing chemical protective clothing such as boots, protective clothing and gloves, we also recommend that you buy skins made of natural rubber, polyvinyl chloride, nitrile rubber, butyl rubber or neoprene protective gear.

To protect the face or eyes from irritating and corrosive substances, we recommend the use of safety goggles for chemical protection.

In addition to general exhaust ventilation, we recommend the use of local exhaust ventilation to prevent respiratory risks when using phosphoric acid, all necessary environmental precautions must be taken, and fumes may need to be vented directly outdoors.
