First, mechanism of action
Reduce the acid power of the feed, reduce the PH value in the stomach, improve the activity of digestive enzymes
Each enzyme has its own PH environment to which pepsin ADAPTS. The PH value of pepsin is 2.0~3.5. When PH value was greater than 3.6, the activity decreased significantly. When PH value is greater than 6.0, pepsin is inactivated. The addition of calcium formate in animal feed can reduce the PH value in the stomach, thus activating pepsin and promoting protein decomposition, which in turn can stimulate the secretion of trypsin in the duodenum, so as to completely decompose and absorb proteins, and promote the conversion rate of feed.
In early weaned piglets, gastric acid secretion is insufficient, and the PH value of the feed is mostly between 5.8 and 6.5, which often makes the PH value in the stomach of the piglets higher than the appropriate activity range of pepsin, which affects the digestion and absorption of the feed. Adding calcium formate to piglet feed can improve the growth performance of piglet.
Domestic studies show that adding 1~1.5% calcium formate to the diet of piglets can prevent diarrhea and dysentery, improve the survival rate, increase the feed conversion rate by 7~10%, reduce the feed consumption by 3.8%, and increase the daily weight gain of pigs by 9~13%. Adding calcium formate to silage can increase the content of lactic acid, reduce the content of casein, and increase the nutrient composition of silage.
